The Golden Calf and Golden Apps

We hate waiting.

It feels like an eternity, it crushes us, and it also exposes us.

Waiting on God is even harder.

The story of the golden calf is a chilling insight into how easy it is for God's children to turn away. Instead of using God's good gifts as worship, they were used to construct a false god.

What if we updated this story into the app stores of our smartphones? What if we considered how easy these applications could be used to tempt us into idolatry?

The good news is the gift of repentance. It allows us to turn back to God, and receive victory that Jesus purchased for all his broken followers.
